Art Deco architecture

There’s a lot of Art Deco architecture in Tampa, Florida, but few places in Florida are as recognizable as the city’s theater. Constructed in 1926, the Tampa Theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The architecture is both timeless and evocative, bringing a unique flair to Tampa’s skyline. To get a sense of the city’s architectural style, take a guided tour through the Central Business District. Learn more about cosmetic surgery with Ernesto J Ruas MD.

The 1890s were a time of great growth for Tampa. The Federal government selected Tampa as a supply depot and embarkation point for sailors returning from the war. Tampa Bay Hotel was built on the west bank of the Hillsborough River, and the city’s second cigar-making city, West Tampa, incorporated in 1894 and remained separate from the city until 1925. Suburbs surrounding the downtown area expanded into suburban areas, including Tampa Heights and Hyde Park. Many new masonry buildings were constructed, and electric streetlights were installed.
Gasparilla Pirate Fest

Since 1904, the Gasparilla Pirate Festival has brought fun and excitement to Tampa Bay. The city and the Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla organize the event, which honors the legendary Spanish pirate Jose Gaspar. The festival, which has attracted thousands of visitors over the past decade, has grown to become one of the largest parades in the country, generating more than $20 million in revenue for the Tampa area.

Getting to Gasparilla is easy. While you can walk to the event, getting to the parade early is best. It’s recommended that you park near Howard and MacDill Avenues so you can easily reach the parade starting point. Otherwise, parking in Ybor or Channelside will allow you to take a trolley to the parade’s end. If you plan on grabbing a few beads, try to arrive early, as the parade usually starts at dawn.
Three major sports leagues

While it may be difficult to call Tampa, Florida the “sports capital of the world,” its teams have managed to achieve great success. The city boasts three teams in the major sports leagues, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Tampa Lightning, and the Tampa Buccaneers. The three teams are a testament to Tampa’s strong sports culture. While none of them are necessarily destined for the top spot, their success is still well worth lauding.

There are three major professional sports leagues in Tampa, each representing a different part of the city. Despite the aforementioned sports pain, Tampa Bay has experienced a boom in recent years. The Buccaneers, Rays, and Lightning all have championships. In fact, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl in 2002 and the NFL’s Stanley Cup in 2016. Whether a team is playing in the NHL, the NFL, or the NBA, Tampa Bay has a championship to its name.
